About YDM: In You Discover Math's (YDM's) first program, we provide virtual 1-1 math tutoring for free or by donation to any student in the US.
About the role: The Tutoring Relationship Coordinator (TRC) serves as an academic coach to clients, and provides personalized appreciation to our tutors. As a TRC, you'll support 1 to 3 tutoring service relationships, depending on your time availability. TRCs arrange periodic check-in sessions with the client & tutor of each tutoring service relationship, assisting the client to reflect on their progress and update their academic goals as the student's learning situation evolves over time. TRCs stay informed of students' progress by reading tutors' session reflections and by watching portions of session videos. TRCs regularly provide tutors with personalized appreciation for their contributions to our students' success.
The TRC role is all virtual, and schedule is flexible. TRCs spend on average about 1 hour per week per tutoring service relationship. TRCs start with 1 tutoring service relationship and take on more later if they wish. Some volunteers serve as a tutor for one client, and serve as a TRC for another client & tutor. To be a TRC, you need to be effective in virtual collaboration, able to communicate your schedule availability, and able to commit at least 1 hour per week.
