INDIVIDUALS Looking for volunteer opportunities?  When disaster strikes, we often see an influx of volunteers looking for ways to help the people and communities affected before they're needed. If you are already associated with a nonprofit or faith organization, we encourage you to reach out to them first. If you are not already associated with an organization - you are a spontaneous volunteer, and you are in the right place! Read more below.

ORGANIZATIONS Need to recruit new volunteers?  If you are open to recruiting new volunteers for any reason, including a disaster, you're in the right place! Post your volunteer need in the VH Portal where volunteers will see it first!

WHAT IS A VRC? A Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) is both a short and long-term solution for spontaneous disaster volunteer management. It serves to connect primarily spontaneous, unaffiliated volunteers with urgent volunteer needs in response to a disaster, but it is open to all organizations and all volunteers in the Gulf Coast Region (13 counties).

The VH Portal serves as a virtual VRC - a central list of all volunteer needs related to a specific disaster. When our community is responding do a disaster we will post the link/button that will direct you to the central list of volunteer needs below.

Browse thousands of volunteer opportunities and donation drives.

Respond to the needs you are able to commit to!
