April 23, 2022 - San Jacinto Celebration

Join us on Saturday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the 2022 San Jacinto Celebration, presented by the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield Association and the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, a day of fun, food, history, and reenactment celebrating the 186th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto.  Reenactors dressed in period clothing will make the epic events of April 1836 come alive, and reenactments throughout the day will recreate the dramatic events that led to one of the most decisive and impactful military victories in the history of North America.  FREE ADMISSION for everyone!

April 22, 2022 - The Road to San Jacinto - School Event

4th and 7th Graders from local schools will be gathering at the site to explore and learn through the living history demonstrations.  There will be activities galore!  2,000+ students are expected to attend!  This leg of the event will be offering and immersive education experience of the Texas Revolution including Mexican and Texan encampments staffed by reenactors in period clothing. Both planned demonstrations and participatory activities which will allow students to interact directly with the past. In addition to planned activities reenactors will engage in routine period activities (cooking food, checking weapons) etc. Students will be engaged through the senses of sight, sound and smell.

Volunteers are needed for set-up, take-down and everything in between, from working with children on activities to monitoring gates and entrances.  Volunteers also needed to prepare meals for 70 reenactors that will be staying on-site and sharing their knowledge, gifts and talents to bring this most important part of Texas history to life.  Snacks provided for volunteers.  See need schedules/descriptions below.
