Mercer showcases varieties of native and well-adapted plants that thrive in the Houston area. Volunteers are invited to grow a green thumb with Mercer staff, other volunteers, or even by yourself! Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday morning shifts are available. Great opportunity for newly-retired people to connect with plants and nature. Training will be provided. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens is a County operated facility. It comprises over 400 acres of East Texas Piney Woods and showcases the region's largest collection of native and cultivated plants. It also maintains a "living museum" which is home to a wealth of animal life.
