Council Member Amanda K. Edwards’ office is seeking volunteers for its Hurricane Harvey Recovery Canvassing in Northeast Houston on Saturday, March 23, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The objective of this effort is to canvass homes that experienced Harvey damage in the Rosewood, Houston Gardens, Settegast, and Verde Forest areas of Northeast Houston and are still recovering almost 1½ years after the storm. Volunteers will ensure that no pockets of the Houston community (especially senior citizens) are left behind in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The canvassing will (1) provide residents with direct assistance with obtaining Houston Harvey Housing resources post-Harvey and (2) provide critical information.
The group will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Northeast Multi-Service Center (9720 Spaulding Street) to review instructions. Canvassing will begin shortly thereafter. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Water will be provided.
Volunteers are asked to RSVP no later than March 20 at 10 a.m.
