Who We Are

Volunteer Houston - a program of the Vic Samuels Center for Volunteerism and Civic Service at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston - connects individuals, groups, and companies with nonprofit agencies to transform our community for good through volunteerism. By offering a web-based tool (www.volunteerhou.org) for nonprofits, schools, government offices, and volunteers to autonomously post and respond to volunteer opportunities, Volunteer Houston serves the Greater Houston Region as the central hub for volunteerism. Volunteer Houston also offers programming for volunteers, training & networking for volunteer administrators, and coordinated disaster response services for spontaneous volunteers. Volunteer Houston was founded in 1974 and is the Points of Light affiliate in Houston. For more information, visit www.volunteerhouston.org

What We Do

Volunteer Houston connects volunteers and their passions with nonprofits and their needs. The process is simple. Nonprofit organizations sign up and list their volunteer needs. Volunteers sign up and look for organizations with volunteer opportunities that interest them.
