Great for Groups! Children under 18 must have a chaperone. We need your help in the following areas:
Water Stations: This key role is not just about providing hydration support — but moral support and excitement! As runners travel the course, they may get fatigued; but with your smiling face and cheering attitude, you will revive them! Duties include filling and stacking cups with water, handing beverages to runners as they come by, and keeping the area around your station tidy.
Bottled Water Distribution: At the Finish Line, you'll hand weary runners a bottle of water.
Course Marshal: Directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are key. Duties include a proper understanding of the course, being able to stop pedestrian and/or traffic while runners cross.
Survivor Stroll: This job will include everything from passing out Hero flags, helping survivors find their way to the Start Line, cheering them on their way, and making sure they get to the post-race party. Once this role is complete, you will be assigned to another area.
Family 1K: This job will include guiding our families to the Start Line, cheering them along the way, helping them find the post-race party. Once this role is complete, you will be assigned to another area.
Children's Medals: Reward the youngest runners by giving them their hard-earned medal. Duties include unwrapping medals, handing them to children at the Family 1K Finish Line, and walking around the post-race party handing them to any child. This shift may last longer than stated.
Crowd Control: The runners are happy to be done. Some are waiting for their friends/family to cross. But we need to make sure everyone can get through so we don't have a back-up of runners waiting to cross the finish line. Duties include keeping runners moving efficiently through the Finish Line and directing runners to the post-race area where they can wait for loved ones.
