Who We Are

Since 2003, the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation has donated more than $7 million from its Run for the Rose to adult brain cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, pediatric health initiatives at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and the Dr. Marnie Rose Professorship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

What We Do

The Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation's major fundraiser is a 5K fun run and 1K family walk called Run for the Rose which is held every spring. The Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation became the very first in the Greater Houston, Texas, area to hold a fundraising event that would benefit adult brain cancer research at MD Anderson, the largest brain cancer center in the U.S., if not the world.

Run for the Rose kicks off with a Survivor Stroll, where all participating brain cancer survivors lead the runners with a short walk to start the race. Next up is the 5k walk and competitive run where runners from around Texas compete for prizes. Finally, we end with the Family 1k Walk and Kids Run, encouraging the next generation of future philanthropists. Then it's on to our famous post-race party where Houston's best restaurants, entertainers, and family-friendly activities await.
