About Us
3 "A" Bereavement Foundation (3ABF) offers a wide range of bereavement services for low-income and working poor in the Houston Metropolitan Area. Since inception, we have assisted almost 10,000 families heal from the loss of their loved one through emotional and financial support. 3ABF is the only organization in Houston offering comprehensive bereavement families and we are seeking volunteers to meet the demand of families in need.
Responsibilities
- Help spread the message of the important work of 3ABF and our impact in the community
- Maintain an understanding of the history, mission, and impact of 3ABF
- Provide input into development of the annual campaign, including direct mail, personal solicitation, and events fundraising
- Engage in the execution of all aspects of fundraising campaigns, including marketing efforts, personal solicitation, and the acknowledgement process
- Help plan and implement campaigns to solicit funds from the Houston community and beyond
- Help to identify new prospects and potential funders
- Report activities and communicate to the Program Manager
- Communicate as appropriate with the Executive Director
Commitment
- Minimum of 6 months
- Participate in a monthly committee conference call (first Saturday of every month)
- Be on time and be responsible during assigned events and meetings; notify 3ABF if you are not able to attend committee meeting or event
Requirements
- Must be 21 or older
- Display a positive working attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Belief in the importance of the mission of 3ABF
- Good English speaking & writing skills; Bilingual English & Spanish speakers especially needed!
- Complete and submit the 3ABF Volunteer Application Form and related forms (the latter will be done on-site as part of orientation)
- No experience necessary!
