JOB SUMMARY: The receptionist has the initial contact with those seeking assistance from MAM. Receptionist must elicit identification from client, compare with database listing to determine eligibility for services. Ascertains assistance request and checks for required documentation (lease, eviction notice, etc). Prepares client forms and refers client to interviewer or case managers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains work area and reception area for client interaction. Assures that all forms, supplies etc are available for tasks. Is aware of interviewer work load and adjust client assignment accordingly. Maintains an overview of waiting room and client ?back-up?. Compares client identification against MAM database to screen for eligibility. Develops an awareness of MAM clientele and their needs. Is familiar with the variety of services and programs available at MAM. Makes appointments for collaborative organizations, such as, Medicaid, SNAP, Family Services counselor, etc QUALIFICATIONS: Commitment to MAM mission. Ability to work with a persons of all walks of life and treat them with dignity. Computer skills include familiarity with WINDOWS and simple data entry. Ability to speak and understand Spanish, a plus, but not necessary. Sense of humor.
