Volunteers can offer their assistance by providing compassionate support and services to patients and their families, while permitting the hospice care team to focus on quality care. The following are support and activities that may be provided by our volunteers: Patient Care - help patients with simple caregiving tasks by maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, as well as assisting them with activities of daily living, running errands, light housekeeping Companionship - visit lonely patients, listen to patients and their loved ones share memories and feelings, read and play games Comfort - help patients cope with their fears at the end-of-life and console family members Support - coordinate supportive services that provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families Special Services - specialty volunteers can provide massages, bring pets to visit, and play music for patients.
