Opportunity: Seeking highly-driven, self motivated intern to help with marketing, event planning and fundraising initiatives. Duties: In this position you will assist BPSOS with the overall growth and strategic direction of our organization and other organizations affiliated with BPSOS, as well as assist with the day-to-day administration, operations, and logistics. Specific duties include: ? Researching potential speakers and appropriate funding options via grants and sponsorships; ? Post-event tracking (attendance, follow-ups, profits, stats); ? Preparing materials for volunteer, fundraising, professional development, or other BPSOS related events; ? Updating online media database; ? Making phone calls and writing letters/emails relating to events, fundraising and programs with employees, donors, potential sponsors, and other program partners; ? Assisting with event production; ? Managing prospect, sponsorship, and business information and materials in the BPSOS database and by other means; and ? Any other special projects or tasks, as needed. Expectations: The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and have a flexible attitude, warm personality and willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment. Commitment: Compensation This internship is unpaid. Interns will be awarded free admission to all events benefitting BPSOS-Houston. Field Experience may be given with professor approval. Qualifications: ? Passionate about our mission and social services? issues ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ? Team player with a positive, professional, can-do attitude ? Strong attention to detail and care to deliver quality, professional work ? A flexible self-starter that does not require heavy supervision ? High level of organization, great time management, and the ability to multi-task ? Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook ? Reliable transportation
