Description

MAM is inviting volunteers to become an ESL Teacher Assistant! We have opportunities for individuals who are outgoing, friendly and want to make a difference in the life of others.  Our spring 2015 ESL Program starts on Jan. 19th and ends on April 16th. Class times and locations vary with several opportunities to choose from. Volunteer Assistants will work with a teacher to provide the most help for our students.  We have morning, afternoon and evening classes available. Classes are held at MAM and other locations around the Spring Branch area.  All of the training, materials and support are provided to our volunteers from trained ESL Staff.  You do NOT have to be bilingual to teach ESL!

Qualifications needed: Friendly, dedicated, patient, willing to learn and a desire to empower others through education. Volunteers should be able to serve one 3-hour class per week.

Benefits: This is a perfect opportunity for those seeking hands on experience in a classroom setting, working with adults, teaching language skills, gain insight into our communities and the chance to interact with people from a variety of countries and cultures. MAM ESL program also allows its volunteers to explore teaching as a profession and to develop skills that can enhance other aspects of their careers.
