Purpose of the Event: To celebrate Volunteer Houston providing 40 years of service to the Houston community, provide an opportunity for 50 nonprofits to market their organizations and recruit new volunteers, and demonstrate Volunteer Houston’s new volunteer database.
Free for all to attend
Activities:
- Volunteer Fair: 50 nonprofit organizations will have booths at the event where they will recruit new volunteers and conduct small hands on service projects
- Large Service Project: Attendees will create holiday cards to benefit the Volunteer Houston Holiday Project
- Give Aways: Attendees will receive a bag and additional items when at the check in tables
- Database Demos: Volunteer Houston will be demoing its volunteer database and show individuals how to use it to its full potential
- Recognition Ceremony for Former Volunteer Houston Board Members
- Kid’s Zone: There will be a small area that offers a few kid friendly activities such as face painting, balloon animals and bounce house.
- Food (Waiting on funding): Carnival type food will be available for free to the 1st 1500 people. Additionally, as with ever good birthday, there will be plenty of cake!
