Who We Are

Welcome to Friends of Down Syndrome! We are a dedicated non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our mission is to support, educate, and advocate for the Down syndrome community through various programs and services.

What We Do

  • Support Services: We offer a range of support services to families, including educational resources, counseling, and social activities designed to foster community and provide emotional support.
  • Educational Programs: Our programs include workshops, seminars, and training sessions to help individuals with Down syndrome reach their full potential and to educate the public about Down syndrome.
  • Advocacy: We advocate for policies and practices that improve the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and work to raise awareness and understanding within the community.
  • Day Habilitation Program: We provide a comprehensive day habilitation program five days a week for adults with Down syndrome who have aged out of high school. This program focuses on developing daily living skills, social interactions, and vocational training, helping participants lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
  • Events: We organize events such as social gatherings, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns to bring people together, celebrate achievements, and promote inclusion.
