Houston Science Festival-Scratch Day, In partnership with our Scratch friends, Bridges to Science is hosting the Houston Science Festival-Scratch Day. Students in grades 5-12 and their families are invited to imagine, create and share with us. They will experience a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Month fiesta with live demonstrations, multidisciplinary collaborations, family-friendly science activities, interactive experiences, a panel featuring inspiring STEM professionals, a taste of Hispanic cuisine and more!
Festival Champion will support activities on the day of the Houston Science Festival during their chosen shift (Shift A: 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. || Shift B: 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
Before the Houston Science Festival:
* Participate in a mandatory 30 minute virtual training on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 @ 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. via Google Meet.
* Watch a 3-minute video with pertinent updates the week before the festival.
During the Houston Science Festival:
* Check in 45 minutes before your shift.
* Help with tasks such as:
- Registration & Administration
- Main Stage & Decor
- Exhibitors & Hospitality
- Information & Guest Relations
- Outdoors & Safety
* Stay until your festival time slot concludes.
After the Houston Science Festival:
* Spread the word about the joys of volunteering at the Houston Science Festival.
Requirements and Skills:
* STEM enthusiasts 18+ or 14+ with an adult.
* Be a courteous, helpful, flexible, dependable, and punctual team player.
