Beauty’s Community Garden presents our 8th Annual MLK PEACE through PIE Community Event & Fundraiser, as we celebrate the work and vision of Dr. King’s message toward a harmonious place for all mankind at the table.
This community event is for the entire family. The community can enjoy entertainment, free food, pie stories, pie sampling and chances to vote on the best pies. Also included are chances to win prizes, receive giveaways, and attend two sessions of Garden and Healthy Cooking Workshops–Spanish translators are available for some workshops.

We need volunteers to help with setting up and breaking down of our event! We have various shifts available.
Some of the needs will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Putting out / up chairs
- Putting out / taking down tables
- Putting on / taking off table covers
- Putting up event tents / breaking down
- Tables and Signs
- Labeling Pies
- Directing Traffic
- Directing People
- Guest Registration
- Pie Registration
- Pie Intake
- Counting Votes
- Runners
- Class Volunteers
- Farmers Market Volunteers
This portion of our volunteer event may involve physical labor depending on which area you are assigned to, please consider this when deciding if the event is right for you. Wear comfortable clothing. Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes (no sandals, Crocs, etc.). If you need to be assigned to an area with lighter duties, please let us know beforehand.
Beauty's Community Garden staff and leaders will coordinate and direct volunteers to assure health and safety measures are being met.
Below are the various shifts we are trying to fill:
9am-1pm (4 hrs) "Full Event Volunteering"
9am-11am (2 hrs) "Set Up Only"
11am-1pm (2 hrs) "Break Down Only"
