The Houston ToolBank will be partnering with Deady Middle School to help beautify their outdoor space for the students. This is a low-income, title 1 school that is in need of a lot of love. We will be on school property from 9 am on January 19th until 1 pm. This is a school so please make sure you bring your ID for entrance.
We will be doing the following projects:
Back Garden
Stain 5 picnic tables
Strip, stain and replace the missing plank from one picnic table
- The missing plank is 71 1/8” 2x6
Weed and trim back garden areas
Remove wild sunflower bush
Re-lay pavers around the garden edge
First Indoor Courtyard
Weed garden areas
Clear leaves and debris
Second Indoor Courtyard
Weed garden areas
Clear leaves and debris
Trim back plants
Replace broken step (ToolBank will build this beforehand, we will need help installing it)
This will be a fun day to support a school in need. Our goal is to make this school's outdoor space fun and inviting for the students. We do ask you to dress weather appropriate because it is in January and we will be outside! If there is bad weather, we will email you directly the day before with a rescheduled plan.
