MAM is looking for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) volunteer to help with our Immigration Program!
MAM's mission is to build stable families, a dynamic workforce, and vibrant communities...together! We envision a Houston of boundless opportunities, filled with hope, stability, and belonging. Our philosophy of service is one of personalized support, believing that every client is capable, creative, and whole.
In 2020, 748 clients in MAM's Immigration Program received accurate information and representation for employment authorizations, permanent residency, family petitions and humanitarian relief.
With a busy program, volunteer help is needed! As an Immigration volunteer, you would help the program with translating Immigration documents from Spanish to English. Additionally, you would help with phone calls and with scanning documents, all depending on what is needed most at the time.
It's a great opportunity for someone who interested in helping Immigrants, who is a law student, those who are interested in helping your neighbors in your community, someone who is retired, etc. You must be fluent in English and Spanish and have moderate computer skills.
The position is 4 hours per week and is flexible in that those 4 hours can be on either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, and can be any 4-hour time frame between 9 am and 4 pm.
