About Bridges to Science’s We provide math, coding, and robotics clubs and workshops to underserved in grades 5th-9th. We are bridging the achievement and diversity gaps in STEM education. Our programs cultivate curiosity, build community, and impart the skills and confidence to succeed. Bridges to Science is a dynamic and growing team, dedicated to equipping minority students, home educated students, and other underserved communities with 21st century skills, thus helping them discover the sciences.
Program Assistant The Program Assistant will coordinate Bridges to Science programs and outreach activities to support the organization’s mission and long-term goals. This position includes administrative and point of contact duties, planning, organizing, staffing, and program support activities as needed. The ideal candidate will be an empathetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented problem solver with excellent teamwork and communication skills. The Program Assistant will work primarily with the Founder and Program Director to support the programs offered, develop new programs, or adjust existing ones as community needs evolve.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general office management duties and administrative
- Ensures support Bridges to Science’s community, mission, and goals.
- Organize and coordinate logistics of programs, and special community outreach events.
- Working with Program Instructors/Coaches, Volunteers, etc.
- Promote a culture of service, with focus on our community needs, safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Assist with annual operational budget and operating plan for programs, and electronic newsletters.
- Assist with writing and editing letters and grant writing, respond to emails, and other forms of communications to partners, volunteers, and donors.
- Assist with the Program Manager’s calendar
- Assist with corresponding to vendors and suppliers
- Attend staff meetings and take minutes
- Provide other related duties
Requirements and skills
- · Proven work experience as a Program Assistant or similar role
- · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- · Organized to oversee several projects at once
- · Excellent computer literacy
- · Professional telephone and email etiquette
