Become a family mentor to a newly arrived refugee family and help them settle into the city of Houston.
Activities involve virtual weekly check-ins, goal setting and goal management, in-person activities (contingent on Covid-19 situation), and planned activities for the family. The time commitment must be at least 6 months and you must engage your mentee for at least one hour a week.
This volunteer opportunity is great for students and full-time workers because it allows scheduling flexibility.
It is not necessary to speak any other languages!
