The sunflowers are growing! Volunteers are needed to join our sunflower committee in tidying up the sunflower beds removing self-planted grasses, and to observe and record what has happened at the maze during the last few weeks.
The Sunflower Crew will be pulling/cutting grasses in The Magical Sunflower Maze this week on 3 dates. Come on out and join us if you can!
These events are so much more than weeding! We will be…
- Detoxifying through sweat therapy
- Boosting our Vitamin D
- Increasing flexibility through squats and bends
- Practicing hand strength exercises
- Entering into a meditative state brought on by repetitive movement
- Getting soil exposure for that amazing serotonin high
- Contemplating the strength and vigor of prairie grasses, that we might also be so resilient
- Relieving the stresses of the day with each weed pulled
- Ensuring a good night's sleep
All this, while socializing and enjoying the visible impact of our labor.
The field is moist and the weeding is not hard. Bring your hat, gloves, refillable water bottle and/or plastic cup and favorite hand tool. Hibiscus tea and ice water provided.
