As an American Cancer Society volunteer, you can honor a survivor or a loved one lost to cancer and help save lives of people in your community and around the world. It only takes a little time to do a lot of good. Discover how rewarding it is to be a volunteer.
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers. More than just a roof over their heads, it's a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. Each Hope Lodge community offers a supportive, homelike environment where guests can share a meal, join in the evening's activities, or unwind in their own private room. Patients staying at a Hope Lodge must be in active cancer treatment and permanently reside more than 40 miles away from their cancer treatment center.
Hope Lodge Episodic Volunteers provide unique short-term or one-time services to Hope Lodge guests. This is a great opportunity for volunteer groups.
Serve community and help local people. Provide support and encouragement. Flexible scheduling. Good for groups. One time volunteer opportunity; or irregular volunteer hours.
