We need volunteers to form Reception team for the 6th annual Islamic Arts festival. The task is to greet people who come to the festival and make them comfortable and welcome.
The two day Islamic Arts Festival is the largest and oldest festival of its kind in North America and attracts over 5000 people each year. There will be over 10,000 sq.ft of Islamic Art from over 40 artists. There will be emerging and student artists as well. Also interactive sessions on calligraphy, henna tattoo, Ebru, painting, Arabesque pattern coloring and lots of children’s activities. We promise a fun day with the family with kids activities, halal food trucks and great art. The event is free and everyone is welcome for this fun filled family oriented event!
The Islamic Arts Society of Houston aims to promote the rich heritage of arts in Islam. An estimated 200,000 Muslims live in the Greater Houston area. The society organizes events to celebrate our culture and promote the positive image of our community among Houstonians. Art is a common language and binds diverse communities. By promoting Islamic arts we hope to promote mutual understanding and to bring the broader Houston community together.
