Grant Writer
The Grant Writer is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in researching and writing Foundation Grants to fund CrossWalk Center Programs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of proven nonprofit development, fundraising, and/or grant writing
- Possess essential knowledge of a grant application process
- Ability to incorporate accurate and pertinent information in the proposal or application
- Ability to write in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, combined with experience in managing multiple, overlapping deadlines and duties
- Strong editing and formatting skills
- Strong communication skills - especially via phone, email and text
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines concurrently
- Software skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, DonorPerfect and/or ability to become familiar with these tools
- Ability to receive and maintain confidential information
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for researching and identifying grant opportunities
- Develop effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the organizational requirement
- Identify and understand the financial and budget matters of the organization
- Interface and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Assist various department staff in writing periodic reports to comply with grant requirements
- Submit proposals within deadlines to Executive Director or concerned people for approvals
- Attend meetings to discuss grant development and updates on grant timelines.
- Prepare correspondence, communication, & reports with funders in a timely manner
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field.
