Volunteers:

Thanks for considering volunteering at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s 23rd Annual Children’s Festival. Held at The Pavilion, volunteers for Children’s Festival perform a variety of duties over the four-day event including school days on Thursday and Friday and the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. This year’s event takes place Nov. 8th-11th, 2018.  

 

The Children’s Festival educates and entertains thousands of children!

5 Different Shifts to chose from or Volunteer at them ALL!:

School days – Thursday November 8th     8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

                     Friday November 9th         8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Weekend -     Saturday November 10th   9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

                    Saturday November 10th   1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

                    Sunday November 11th     11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

On school days, volunteers help escort the students and chaperones from their bus to their seats for their performances and then back to their bus after the performances are over. Volunteers are provided a continental breakfast on school days. There is one shift on Thursday and one on Friday. Volunteers need to arrive at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. Continental breakfast will be served at 8:00 a.m., orientation begins at 8:30 a.m.

 

On the weekends, volunteers help with face painting, arts & crafts, hat-making, parachute races, kite flying on the hill and more! Volunteers have access to the Volunteer Hospitality Area where beverages and light snacks are available. You also may bring in food and snacks (no beverages) or purchase food and beverages from the concession stands.  On Saturday, those who volunteer both the morning and then the afternoon shift will be served lunch in between shifts. There are two shifts on Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and one on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

All volunteers MUST sign an Authorization and Release of Liability Form. Please note if a volunteer is under the age 18, a parent and/or guardian must also sign the release form along with the student’s signature. 

If you, or your group, are interested in volunteering, please fill out the online form at the link provided here--> Volunteer Sign Up Link Click HERE! and upload completed waiver attachment at the site.  You will then be contacted by Carmen Smiley, Development and Volunteer Coordinator csmiley@woodlandscenter.org, to complete your registration and finalize your desired volunteer shift/dates/times and receive more pertinent volunteer information.  Recommended dress is: plain T-shirt, shorts (not too short) or jeans and comfortable shoes. If coming as a company or group you may wear your company/group logo’d polo, shirt, etc.  If coming as a group and associated with school club/organization, you may wear your designated club t-shirt.
