Join BakerRipley in making phone calls to our neighbors who have requested assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. BakerRipley is now serving more than 2,500 families impacted by the storm through disaster case management, providing access to alternative housing, home repair and emergency financial assistance. However, we have not yet been able to engage all of our neighbors who have been referred to our agency's services.
With your help, we will call individuals who have been referred to our disaster recovery program after calling the United Way's 211 Helpline. You will receive training and a script to guide you, and during calls will verify individuals' contact information and needs as well as schedule appointments with BakerRipley disaster case managers.
If you have a group from work, school, church or elsewhere, we would be happy to work with you to set up a group activity. Please register here, and also email tholstien@bakerripley.org with more information about your group, including affiliation, number of volunteers, and preferred dates!
This is an opportunity for you to meaningfully engage our neighbors and demonstrate that we in the Houston community continue to keep the needs of those impacted by Harvey at the forefront.
