The Apple Corps Leader Team is a dedicated group of individuals who donate time regularly at the Houston Food Bank. This program is designed to expand upon existing skills or develop new leadership skills. With countless community and corporate volunteer groups each year, our Apple Corps Leader volunteers are essential to the operation of the Food Bank by leading, training and organizing these groups.
Apple Corps Leaders are critically important to the success of the Houston Food Bank and help in the following areas:
- Reception - greeting volunteers and helping with registrations
- Product Recovery - assisting with food sorting and repackaging
- Administrative/Operations - helping with general clerical, inventory and other departmental needs
- Teachers Aid, Emergency Pantry and offsite locations
- Special Events - representing the Houston Food Bank at special events and activities both on- and off-site
