Volunteers needed for a two-day summit. Citizens Environmental Coalition (CEC) will convene 200 diverse stakeholders at our 2026 Greater Houston Environmental Summit - Fostering Resilience in Community, to address the three priority areas selected by CEC members: Implement nature-based solutions to mitigate extreme weather occurrences while ensuring equitable access to natural resources. Optimize regional resource efficiency to advance circular economy practices. Promote energy and water practices and develop appropriate infrastructure for grid resilience and sustainability. Many of the Greater Houston area's environmental leaders will participate, along with business, political, and community leaders, to hear the results of CEC's Working Groups Built for Resilience and Research & Data Hub, and discuss next steps for collaborative, community-wide programming in 2027. This year's summit unites local leaders, changemakers, and community voices to align strategies, build collective power, and launch immediate solutions for climate adaptation, circularity, and infrastructure resilience.
