Mentor and Disciple Teens
StandOUT Youth is seeking mature Christian mentors who are committed to walking alongside teens and helping them grow as followers of Jesus Christ.
This is not a one time volunteer role. Our mentoring model is life on life discipleship. Mentors build trust, remain consistent in their mentee’s life as they show them how to be followers of Christ.
Responsibilities
• Build a consistent relationship with an assigned teen
• Attend BLOCK Party twice each month on Tuesday evenings
• Participate in Bible study, activities, games, and small group conversations at BLOCK Party
• Check in with your mentee between gatherings
• Model Christian character, accountability, and healthy relationships
• Encourage your mentee’s spiritual, personal, and leadership growth
• Follow all StandOUT Youth safety policies and mentor boundaries
Commitment
Mentors are asked to commit to walking with a teen for at least one year. Consistency is essential because strong mentoring relationships develop over time.
Ideal Candidate
• A born again Christian who is actively following Jesus Christ
• Connected to a local church
• Able to support StandOUT Youth’s biblical beliefs and teachings
• Dependable, patient, relational, and encouraging
• Comfortable working with middle and high school students
• Able to attend Tuesday evening BLOCK Parties twice each month
• Willing to complete an interview, training, background check, and required screening
