Houston families and volunteers alike are preparing for one of the city’s most impactful events—the Mayor’s 16th Annual Back to School Fest (B2SF). This large-scale community initiative aims to equip thousands of elementary school students with the tools they need to begin the school year ready for success.
A key component of the event happens before the big day. We need volunteers to assist with this massive undertaking at the Houston Food Bank in assembling 20,000 backpacks with essential school supplies and valuable educational and community resources designed to support students and their families throughout the academic year. By providing these materials, the program helps ensure that young learners across Houston start school with confidence and the resources they need to thrive.
