Shell Hebert Career & Technical Academy is looking for friendly volunteers to help with our Summer Creative Kids Camp from June 30 through August 7.
Volunteers will help our camp team with simple daily activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading time, STEM activities, music, lunch/snack support, and helping children move from one activity to the next.
This is a great opportunity for students, parents, retirees, church groups, civic groups, and community members who enjoy being around children and want to lend a helping hand this summer.
No special experience is required. We are simply looking for volunteers who are kind, dependable, positive, and willing to support our staff and campers.
Flexible weekday shifts are available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Volunteer Activities May Include
- Helping with arts, crafts, games, and activities
- Reading with children or helping with simple learning activities
- Assisting during snack or lunch time
- Helping set up or clean up activity areas
- Encouraging campers and helping them stay engaged
- Supporting staff with daily camp routines
Time Commitment
Flexible shifts available:
Morning: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Full Day: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Volunteers may sign up for one day, multiple days, or ongoing weekly support.
Requirements
Volunteers should be dependable, positive, and comfortable helping in a children’s summer camp setting.
Age Requirement
Ages 14+ welcome.
