About the Organization
Domestic Truth Foundation is a Houston-based nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence through crisis intervention, case management, healing programs, advocacy, and systemic reform initiatives. We are in an active growth phase and expanding our executive infrastructure.
We are seeking a highly capable, mature, and self-directed Executive Director Assistant Intern to support executive-level operations.
This is a selective leadership-track opportunity.

Position Overview
The Executive Director Assistant Intern will work directly with the Executive Director on strategic planning, high-level operations, development initiatives, and organizational growth strategy.
This role requires discretion, critical thinking, strong writing ability, and professional judgment. The selected candidate will be trusted with sensitive information and executive-level exposure.
This is not an entry-level administrative role. It is designed for individuals who are serious about nonprofit leadership, public policy, advocacy, or executive management.

Core Responsibilities
Executive Operations
• Manage scheduling and high-level calendar coordination
• Draft and edit professional correspondence
• Prepare executive reports and briefing documents
• Organize board and leadership materials
Strategic & Development Support
• Conduct grant and funding research
• Assist in preparing structured grant documentation
• Support sponsorship and partnership outreach
• Conduct policy and advocacy research
Organizational Growth
• Assist in refining workflows and executive systems
• Support documentation of internal procedures
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions
• Maintain strict confidentiality standards
Program Oversight Support
• Assist with program coordination logistics
• Help monitor volunteer and operational tracking systems

Qualifications
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• High level of discretion and professional maturity
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
• Interest in nonprofit leadership, law, psychology, or public policy
• Experience with Google Workspace required
• Prior leadership, research, or executive support experience preferred

Leadership Pathway
This internship is structured as a leadership development opportunity. Interns who complete a minimum of one year and demonstrate exceptional performance will receive priority consideration for future paid roles as funding expands.
