Do you want to help refugees, veterans and young people get the bike they need, enabling them to get to work or school and stay connected?
Freewheels Houston needs people to help our customers get the right bike for them--safe, reliable and a good fit. All of these bikes were donated by generous Houstonians and cleaned and repaired by Freewheels volunteers.
- Do you know about bike fit?
- Will you make sure each customer has a properly fitted helmet?
- Can you show them how to use a bike lock effectively?
- Are you willing to explain our waiver form and provide some basic principles of safe riding?
- Are you patient and friendly, willing to work through this process when our customers don't speak English? (Here's a tip: Google Translate is a great help.)
We give bikes to people every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at our shop at 6020 Jessamine #204. We also travel to schools an other locations to distribute bikes.
