Annual Juneteenth Jubilee in Honor of Devaughn Darling, identical twin brother of former Houston Texans, NFL legend, Devard Darling, at Acres Homes, Multiservice Center, 6719 W. Montgomery Rd., Houston, TX 77091 from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. This is a great event that helps our community learn more about Sickle Cell Disease. We offer free health screenings, free lunch for attendees, health educators/speakers, free giveaways, and more. The attendees leave with a wealth of knowledge and resources from the various vendors and speakers. Houston, home to the world’s largest medical center, still sees sickle cell warriors struggle to access consistent, quality care and information. This event addresses that gap with a mix of education, health screenings, blood donation opportunities, and the latest updates on therapeutics and clinical trials—all delivered in an accessible, celebratory environment.

2nd Annual Community Fall Festival – Workforce and Wellness Initiative, hosted by the Katie B. Organization, at the Deluxe Theater, 3303 Lyons Avenue, TX 77020, 12pm to 3pm. Workforce opportunities, wellness services, family fun, and community connection. A day of resources, opportunities, and care designed to inspire, equip, and uplift youth, families, and our community. They are looking for programs for adolescents and youth, along with programs and resources for families, older adults, etc.
Who Can Apply?
Anyone 16 and older with a heart for service! No healthcare background required—just a commitment to helping others.
