Description

  • Legal Oversight:

  • Advise the board and executive leadership on legal issues affecting the organization.

  • Review key contracts, agreements, and legal documents as needed.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and legal protections are in place.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit laws, employment law, tax law, and other regulations.

  • Monitor and support filings such as IRS Form 990, charitable registrations, etc.

  • Policy Review:

  • Assist with drafting and reviewing policies related to governance, ethics, data protection, whistleblower protections, and conflict of interest.



Qualifications: At least 2 or more years working in a law or compliance office. Previous committee/board experience. Familiar with Texas regulations for 501c3 non-profit
