The AIP BIPOC Network is seeking a law student volunteer to assist with legal research and nonprofit policy development. This role offers practical experience in nonprofit and public interest law while supporting our mission to improve the quality of life of the BIPOC Autoimmune Community through Awareness, Advocacy, Action, Assessment, and Alignment.

Tasks:

  • Research nonprofit governance and compliance requirements

  • Assist in drafting or updating bylaws, board policies, and volunteer/HR agreements

  • Prepare plain-language summaries of legal standards or best practices

  • Support attorney review by preparing draft documents and issue briefs


Time Commitment:

  • Approx. 4–6 hours per month

  • Flexible schedule, remote with virtual check-ins


Skills & Requirements:

  • Current law student (1L–3L) or recent graduate

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Interest in nonprofit or public interest law

  • Proof of enrollment and signed confidentiality agreement required
