Description

Help make a difference in the fight against blood cancers! The Texas Gulf Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is seeking a volunteer to support the activities of our School and Youth Program. We host service learning campaigns in hundreds of schools in Houston and the surrounding counties. Our programs, Pennies for Patients and Pasta for Pennies (sponsored by Olive Garden), raise funds to support blood cancer research and to provide aid to blood cancer patients and their families. These programs also teach children the value of helping others. The School and Youth Program Volunteer assists our staff by handling tasks that would otherwise pull us away from recruiting schools and providing school support. Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: - Assembling information and incentive packages for schools and sponsors - Assisting staff with preparing and shipping campaign materials to school coordinators - Preparing mailings for "Welcome" and "Thank You" letters to school coordinators and donors **Certain volunteers may be able to assist with school recruitment. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Time Commitment 1-2 days per week (M-F) Flexible Hours between 9am and 3pm Set your weekly schedule
