Great for Groups! Children under 18 must have a chaperone. Be the first to greet the runners when they cross the finish line. We need your help in the following areas:
Bottled Water Distribution: Hand weary runners bottles of water. Duties may include opening cases and stocking tables.
Food Distribution: Make sure there are plenty of bananas, apples, etc. at easy reach for the runners. Duties include restocking tables, serving runners, and keeping the area around your station tidy. We have a dozen restaurants who donate food to our participants to enjoy! We need volunteers to serve the food.
Awards: Medals are given to 1st through 3rd place winners in various age categories. You will help pass out medals to runners who place.
Brain Tumor Survivor Tent: Cheerfully greet brain tumor patients and their families into this transformed space. You will assist handing out medals to patients.
Children's Area: Our Children's Area is very popular with our youngest attendees and is the last area to close. The fun includes clowns, arts and crafts, inflatables, etc. This job will include getting the space ready, greeting and guiding guests, supporting the efforts of our many post-race party entertainers, and helping wrap things up in the in the last hour or so of your shift. Your shift may last longer than stated.
The 20th Annual Run for the Rose takes place on Sunday, April 16, at the University of Houston. Run for the Rose is the primary program of the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation that raises funds for brain cancer research and pediatric initiatives including chronic illness, palliative, and hospice care.
