Alzheimer's disease and dementia affect more than 140,000 families in Southeast Texas alone.
You can help ensure families in your community are aware of the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and how they can help prevent dementia by volunteering as a member of the Alzheimer's Association's Speakers Bureau.
As a Speakers Bureau volunteer, you represent the Alzheimer's Association by giving community presentations to your friends, family, neighbors and community groups right here in The Woodlands. Volunteers are able to choose which presentations they'd like to give through an online database, so you can choose which times will work best with your schedule. We have opportunities available during the day, in the evening and on weekends.
Nervous about public speaking? Don't worry! Volunteers undergo training to learn more about the Alzheimer's and Association services. In addition to sharpening your public speaking skills, you'll be providing your community with invaluable information to help make Alzheimer's disease history.
We do ask that volunteers are at least 18 years old.
