Christmas Village Programs Assistants aid the Bayou Bend Education department with the implementation of intergenerational activities presented during the evening program CHRISTMAS VILLAGE AT BAYOU BEND.
Christmas Village will feature several activities for families. These activities require volunteer supervision to help greet guests, explain the activity, monitor activity materials, and answer questions as appropriate. The activity stations include outdoor games, a cotton snowball toss area, music-making hand bell stations, a holiday movie theater, and a downhill sled slide. Volunteers will receive training and instructions ahead of the event via email, an opportunity to attend a pre-Christmas Village orientation event, and will receive additional instructions on site.
Volunteers should be comfortable spending time outdoors, standing for long periods of time, and walking around Bayou Bend's 14-acre outdoor property. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Many activities require bending, lifting, and pushing, or some combination thereof.
Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with the public, particularly children, and have a friendly and pleasant attitude with guests at all times. Art experience is not required.
