Description

Green thumb volunteers are wanted at Mercer Botanic Gardens. This botanical garden showcases varieties of native and well-adapted plants that thrive in the Houston area. Volunteers are invited to learn about the best gardening practices and pruning techniques in this living museum. Weekly morning shifts are preferred. Great opportunity for newly-retired people to connect with plants and nature. Training will be provided. Mercer Botanic Gardens is a County operated facility. It comprises 300+ acres of East Texas Piney Woods and showcases the region's largest collection of native and cultivated plants. It also maintains a "living museum" which is home to a wealth of animal life.
