Legal Oversight: Advise the board and executive leadership on legal issues affecting the organization. Review key contracts, agreements, and legal documents as needed. Risk Management: Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and legal protections are in place. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with nonprofit laws, employment law, tax law, and other regulations. Monitor and support filings such as IRS Form 990, charitable registrations, etc. Policy Review: Assist with drafting and reviewing policies related to governance, ethics, data protection, whistleblower protections, and conflict of interest.
Qualifications: At least 2 or more years working in a law or compliance office. Previous committee/board experience. Familiar with Texas regulations for 501c3 non-profit
