On Saturday, November 18, 2023, we’ll celebrate Family Volunteer Day, a global day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods.

Why volunteer as a family?

Families who volunteer together have the unique experience of working toward a shared goal.
You may even learn that your child has a talent or interest you didn't know about before.
Everyone brings something unique to the table and can connect with each other and the community in a new way.

NONPROFITS			VOLUNTEERS
1	Take advantage of the added promotional boosts from Volunteer Houston to increase awareness of your volunteer needs on November 18th.		1	Browse a real-time list of volunteer needs in the VH portal by clicking here. (Links coming soon!) You'll find in-person, virtual and remote opportunities.
2	Post your need for volunteers in the VH portal and check the box for "Family Friendly" when prompted.		2	Rally your family's talents and commit to supporting a local nonprofit by responding to their needs in the VH portal. Psst...friends, neighbors, and coworkers count too!
3	Remind your volunteers to record their hours in the VH portal. Or you can record their hours in your agency account!		3	Return to your volunteer profile in the VH portal when you're done and record your hours. We'll compile a community impact report that includes you!
4	With your volunteers' permission post a photo or video on social using the hashtag *#FamilyVolunteerDay* then tag us!		4	Check out year-round family friendly volunteer opportunities posted in the VH portal here.
