ALL VOLUNTEER POSITIONS FULL!
There will be great viewing locations throughout Buffalo Bayou Park and beside the trails through Downtown to Sesquicentennial Park.
Join us for Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race – the 49th Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta! Paddlers, ages 12 and up, are encouraged to participate in the 15-mile race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou. Whether you are entering competitively or paddling for pleasure, you won’t want to miss out on this longstanding Houston tradition!
Spectators can view the paddlers anywhere along Buffalo Bayou from San Felipe to Allen's Landing. The best viewing will be along the bayou in Buffalo Bayou Park or from the park through Downtown to the finish line at Allen's Landing.
You can also volunteer for various activities running the Regatta. Volunteers must sign up ahead of the event and receive assignment information through Trudi Smith. Opportunities include:
Starting Line Volunteers

6:30 - 9:30 am
- Checking in participants/distributing packets
- Collecting/reviewing waivers
- Distribute t-shirts
- Boat drop off
- Parking garage traffic control
- Boat placement
Finish Line Volunteers
Allen's Landing, 1019 Commerce St.
11:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Food and drink
- Traffic control and Shuttle
- Distribute fruit and provide assistance
Finish Line Volunteers

2:30 - 4:00 pm
- Tear down (tents, tables, chairs, signs, etc.)

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta is rain or shine. If cancellation does take place due to severe water or weather conditions, all entry fees will support the work of Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Note that there are no refunds given for Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta registration fees.
