Join The Alliance for the largest community service event of the year! Come be a part of our 11th Annual Back to School Drive on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9:30am – 2:00pm at PlazAmericas.
The Alliance invites thousands of children from all over southwest Houston who are in real need of school supplies in order to succeed in the classroom. Together, we can eliminate one barrier to success, the need for basic school supplies, so that kids can focus on learning.
Volunteers are needed on Friday, August 9th and Saturday, August 10th
Friday, August 9 2019
- Backpack assembly: Assembling school supplies into backpacks for the kids and youth.
- Setup: Help prepare the venue for Saturday's event.
Saturday, August 10 2019
- Backpack distribution: Work with case managers to distribute assembled backpacks to kids and youth.
- Ushers/crowd control: Assist with helping families up/down elevators.
- Floater/Interpreters: Assist with miscellaneous tasks.
- Cleanup: Assist with cleanup after the event.
