Who We Are
The As One Foundation was established by former Houston Texan, Devard Darling after loosing his identical twin brother, Devaughn during college football off-season workout to a very preventable sickle cell trait extertional death. Education about sickle cell trait as prevention of exertional sickle deaths is at the heart of As One Foundation events and activities.
What We Do
The mission of the As One Foundation is to educate and increase awareness of sickle cell trait while encouraging young people to achieve their dreams in the face of life challenges. We provide sickle cell trait education and free sickle cell trait screenings to the community - especially young athletes.
