Who We Are
Bilingual Education Institute (BEI) Refugee Department provides educational services to adult members of the resettled refugee population in the Houston area. The refugee department services at BEI are funded by a government grant and we are nationaly accredited by ACCET . The goal of our services is to provide language training and other life skills necessary to adjust to speaking a new language for the refugee community of Houston.
What We Do
We offer various services to our refugee clients:
English Language Instruction: Leveled English classes, from literacy basics to advanced, that meet weekly.
Refugee Health Promotion: Wellness programs that provide emotional and social support to our clients. Some topics we focus on include healthy lifestyles, stress management, and navigating the US healthcare system.
Vocational Training: Certification and Licensure programs for clients interested in restarting their careers or finding a new career in the US.
Civics Education: Citizenship courses for individuals preparing for naturalization.
