Who We Are

Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH) has been serving individuals with Down syndrome and their families since 1974. We began as a small group meeting in the basement of Texas Children's Hospital – and have now grown into a thriving organization with more than 1,800 members residing in the Greater Houston region. Volunteers serve as the lifeblood of DSAH.

Our mission is to provide health, education and advocacy resources to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and their communities. DSAH envisions a society where individuals with Down syndrome are valued, included, and empowered to fulfill their personal goals and aspirations.

What We Do

DSAH sponsors a myriad of services designed to educate, enhance, and empower the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our programs include monthly education workshops, parent and caregiver support and resources, youth and family programs and socials and information and referral services.
