Who We Are
YIS is an annual competition that allows the creative and innovative spirit to foster in our youth. The program starts in the fall, where participating schools utlize our custom designed lesson plan. the lesson plan guides the student through a process of identifying a need that could be filled with an innovative idea. The teacher assists the student in maintaining an inventors log, where all aspects of the invention process are recorded. The student creates a prototype of his invention to show at the local YIS.
The preliminary competitions are held in local schools from February through April. Typically, judges, provided by YIAA, determine the best three inventions by scoring the individual invention on a specially designed scoresheet. The top three winners in each grade go on to the finals.
Inspiring minds and imaginations is the foundation for our success. Our organization is seeking out interested sponsors for this year's event. If you would like to support our efforts to cultivate creativity and innovative thinking promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship with our young leaders.
Thank you in advance for your support, time and talents.
